MELBOURNE, FL - The MCC women's soccer team lost their first game of the season, losing to#17 Miami Dade College 2-0. After a hard-fought win in the same stadium the night prior, the Tribunes were unable to keep pace with the Sharks.
MDC scored just 12 minutes into the game when Betzael Contreras found Julia Gurgel for the Sharks early lead. Unable to clawback, the Sharks closed out the Tribs when Gurgel scored her second, this time off an assist from Luciana Mejia, in the 84th minute.
The Tribune offense could not find the back of the net, as a high-powered offense for MDC put up 18 shots, nine each half.
MCC will look to bounce back as they travel to Batavia to take on Genesee Community College.
