KLOPFER NAMED HEAD VOLLEYBALL COACH
ROCHESTER, NY - The Monroe Community College athletics department announced Kelsey Klopfer as the next head women's volleyball coach. Klopfer brings to MCC over 12 years of coaching experience at varying levels from club, NJCAA, and NCAA Division III levels.
Klopfer most recently served as an assistant coach at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and Ithaca College where she helped coach NCAA All-Americans, conference and league players of the year. At Ithaca, Klopfer served on the coaching staff that finished as the Liberty League regular season champions, NCAA Regional Champions, earning a birth in the NCAA Elite Eight National Tournament, finishing ranked 12th in the country. Prior to RIT and IC, Klopfer served as head coach of NJCAA Region III Onondaga Community College leading them to a 32-2 record and the Region III Runner-Up, where she coached six all-conference players and the NJCAA Region III Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.
"Coach Klopfer's energy and excitement for volleyball is evident the moment you meet her. She's had a front-row seat at some of the best four-year volleyball programs in the country as an assistant, and her track record of success as head coach at Onondaga reinforces her ability to be successful in one of the toughest NJCAA regions in the country, said Director of Athletics Aaron Bouyea. Monroe volleyball has a long history of success in the classroom and on the court and I have no doubt Coach Klopfer will continue that tradition here."
Klopfer earned her Bachelor's degree in Child and Family Studies where she was also a four-year member of the women's volleyball team and team captain. In addition to her coaching duties, Klopfer also works at Monroe Community College as the program manager for healthcare programs.
