ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Monroe Community College Tribunes have won 3 of their last 4 games. They were looking to carry this momentum into the game against NCCC. MCC won 18-0 in 5 innings.
Amanda Linnenbrink was in the circle for MCC as they took on the Thunderwolves in game one. Linnenbrink was exceptional once again striking out 11 batters and giving up one hit en route to another complete game. Nikki Namisniak was on cycle watch for the Tribs as she hit a single, double, and a triple while driving in one run. Eight of the nine Tribune hitters reached base 2 or more times in game one. Ameilia Arena, Nikki Namisniak, Brooklyn Downey, and Morgan Brozak all scored three runs apiece. Ameilia Arena, Carly Sobaszek, and Kamryn Bletch each had two RBIs. Isabella Giorgione plated three Tribunes. Overall, the Tribunes had a disciplined approach at the plate to put another win under their belt.
GAME TWO
The Tribunes were victorious in game two, winning 12-0.
Nikki Namisniak was in the circle for the Tribs in game two. She pitched 2 innings allowing no hits and striking out one hitter. Amanda Linnenbrink came out of the 'pen and pitched 3 innings giving up one hit and striking out five. The MCC bats remained hot in game two. Nikki Namisniak went 4-4 with 4 RBIs going 7-7 in the double header. Carly Sobaszek went 3-3 in both games of the doubleheader. Isabella Giorgione and Amanda Linnenbrink each drove in a pair of runs in this contest. The Tribunes ran wild on the basepath stealing 6 bases. Ashley Simons, Carly Sobaszek, and Kamryn Bletch each stole a bag. Nikki Namisniak stole three bags for the Tribs. The Tribunes swept the Thunderwolves in this doubleheader.
MCC takes on ECC on April 18 at 3 PM in Erie.
