ROCHESTER, NY - The Monroe Community College softball team split their NJCAA Region III double-header with Mohawk Valley on Saturday afternoon, dropping the first game 3-0, before bouncing back in game two with 10-2, run-rule shortened victory to earn the split.
Tribunes batters left eight runners on base, finising with five hits on the day. Amelia Arena, Andrea Olsen, Payge Granger, and Kaia Gustafson all added hits on the day. Allie Schwerthoffer finished with four strikouts, allowing two earned runs in the loss.
GAME TWO:
The bats came alive in game two with the Tribs tallying 11 hits in just four innings of work. Granger led the attack finishing with three RBI's, while Arean, Ashley Simons, and Kailee DiGiacco each tallied multiple hits in the game.
Riley Bishop earned the victory in the cirlce finishing with five strike outs and one earned run.
