MYRTLE BEACH, SC - Monroe Community College Softball won their game in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off single at the end of the game to topple Alpena CC. The game was tied at four with Monroe batting in the bottom of the seventh when Carly Sobaszek singled on a 2-2 count, scoring the game-winning run.
Riley Bishop was in the pitcher's circle for Monroe going seven innings, allowing four runs on six hits, striking out three, and walking one.
Rhea Amrich was in the circle for Alpena CC. The pitcher allowed two hits and three runs over two-thirds of an inning. J Schultz threw five and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Monroe CC Softball scattered eight hits in the game. Sobaszek, Kailee DiGiacco, and Allie Schwerthoffer all managed multiple hits for Monroe. Schwerthoffer, DiGiacco, and Sobaszek each collected two hits to lead the Tribs
