Moraine Valley Tops MCC
MYRTLE BEACH, SC - MCC lost the lead late in a 13-5 defeat to Moraine Valley CC on Friday. The game was tied at five with Moraine Valley CC batting in the top of the sixth when Arianna Andersen singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
Ruby Amigon was in the circle for Moraine Valley CC. The hurler allowed eight hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out two.
Riley Bishop led things off on the rubber for Monroe CC Softball. The lefty went five and a third innings, allowing nine runs on 11 hits, striking out two and walking one. Allie Schwerthoffer threw one and two-thirds innings in relief.
Monroe racked up eight hits in the game. Kaia Gustafson and Andrea Olsen all collected multiple hits for the Tribunes. Gustafson went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Monroe in hits.
Moraine Valley CC racked up 15 hits on the day. Nicole Wagner, Maggie Evoy, Alexandria Palumbo, Mya Granadas, and R Evoy each had multiple hits for Moraine Valley CC. Wagner led Moraine Valley CC with three hits in five at bats.
