Tribunes Close Out Series With Win Over Morris Titans, Move to 4-1 on Season
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Monroe Community College Tribunes finished their series matchup against the County College of Morris Titans with a decisive 11-1 win on Monday. The win moves the Tribunes to 4-1 on the season.
The game started slow with neither team able to score in the first inning. The Titans were held scoreless in the second while the Tribunes put up three runs making 3-0 after two. The Titans scored their lone run in the third bringing the score to 3-1 after three. The Tribunes' bats woke up going for three runs in the fourth, two runs in the fifth, and three more in the sixth, bringing the final score to 11-1.
Brody Froman went 3-3 from the plate with three singles and had one stolen base. Evan Brock went 1-3 from the plate with a double. He also had one RBI and one stolen base. Connor Sackett went 1-1 from the plate with a double. He also had three RBIs and was credited with a sacrifice fly. Alex Simons went 2-2 from the plate with two singles and had one RBI. Parker Zeiser went 1-2 from the plate with a double and had one RBI. Tobey Wright went 2-4 from the plate with two singles. Lucas Brown had two RBIs and one sacrifice fly. Joe Grzeskowiak had two RBIs and one sacrifice fly.
Jackson Hubbard pitched 6.0 innings, facing 24 batters, allowing two hits, one run, one earned run, walking four, and striking out six.
The Tribunes will complete their Myrtle Beach excursion tomorrow, March 12th, against the Middlesex College Colts.
