Bio


Michael Cerame joined Monroe Community College as head athletic trainer in September of 2009. Prior to MCC, he worked at University Sports Medicine for 10 years.  During that time he served as athletic trainer for his alma mater, Aquinas Institute.

Cerame has extensive experience in the field of athletic training.  He spent six years as an athletic trainer in Minor League Baseball for both the Atlanta Braves and the Houston Astros organizations.  He was also the head trainer for Fredonia State University.  While at Fredonia, he assisted the Buffalo Bills Athletic Training staff during training camp.

A Monroe Community College graduate, Cerame went on to earn his bachelor's degree in physical education with an emphasis on athletic training from Eastern Kentucky University. He received his master's degree from EKU in physical education and sports administration.  

Cerame is certified as an athletic trainer by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification and licensed by the New York State Department of Education. In addition to his professional services, Cerame volunteers for community youth sports programs.

Cerame and his wife, Nisha, have two children, a son, Michael, and a daughter, Cara.
