Bio

Kyle French was hired as the Athletic Communications / Operations Assistant for Athletics in September 2023. 

A native of Newark, NY French has grown up around athletics, at Newark Senior High School, he was a three-sport athlete on the Cross Country, Basketball, and Track & Field teams. In the classroom, French found a passion for broadcasting and digital media in sports.

French earned a B.A. in Broadcasting and Mass Communications from SUNY Oswego in Oswego, NY, with a concentration in sports studies and athletic coaching. During his time at SUNY Oswego French was a member of the Lakers Athletic Communications staff, serving as Office and Gameday Operations staff for the Lakers. 

Kyle's previous experience in athletic communications at SUNY Oswego has provided him with a deep understanding of the industry. He has successfully managed media relations, drafted press releases, and coordinated interviews with athletes and coaches. His ability to cultivate positive relationships with the media and effectively convey the team's message has resulted in increased exposure and enhanced brand reputation. In addition to his communication skills, Kyle is also adept at operations management. He has a proven track record of coordinating office tasks, organizing schedules, and ensuring smooth operations of athletic events. 

Also, French is currently the General Manager of the Newark Pilots and the Geneva Red Wings in the PGCBL Summer Collegiate Baseball League. French has been a member of the staff since their inaugural season in 2011. Growing up at both Colburn and McDonough Park French found a passion for the sport of baseball and ultimately helped guide his career path here to MCC. 

As the Athletic Communications / Operations Assistant, Kyle is committed to supporting the team's goals and enhancing the overall athletic experience. With his exceptional communication skills, operational expertise, and passion for sports, he is poised to make a significant impact in his new role and contribute to the success of the organization.
