BEL AIR, MD — Powered by a first-half offensive explosion and a hat trick from forward Sam Cipolla, the #9-ranked Monroe Community College Tribunes opened their 2025 campaign with a commanding 6–0 win over Harford Community College on Saturday afternoon.
The Tribunes wasted no time setting the tone, netting five goals in the first 34 minutes of play. Cipolla kicked things off in the 7th minute, finishing a setup from Mathilda Hellmich, and followed up with her second goal less than 10 minutes later off a feed from Lillian Boesel.
Boesel would finish with two assists, while Hellmich and Alisia Zagaria each added one of their own. Monroe's attack was relentless—outshooting Harford 37–7, including 28 shots on goal.
Lauryn McCracken added a goal in the 30th minute with a well-placed header, and Supapaun Khounpacham scored twice in quick succession, stretching the lead to 5–0 by the 34th minute. Cipolla sealed her hat trick early in the second half (56') off an assist from Kennady Billman.
On the defensive end, Monroe was equally dominant. Goalkeepers Priscilla Palmieri and Celine Gubser combined for a shared shutout, each making two saves across 90 minutes. The back line held Harford to just four shots on target and denied any real scoring threats.
Despite strong efforts from Harford goalkeepers Kaylee Norstrand and Emma Zegers, who combined for 22 saves, the host Owls couldn't keep pace with Monroe's high-powered offense.
