Rochester, NY - The Monroe Community College women's soccer team's hot start to the season continued on Tuesday afternoon defeating Genesee Community College 5-0. Abie LaRocca paced the Tribunes with two goals, while Addison Carr earned the win in goal with seven saves. The Tribunes return to action on Saturday at 1 pm when they take on local University of Rochester in a friendly at John L. Dimarco Field.
Alexis Weldy put the Tribunes up early in the first half on a great feed from Sierra Edwards. LaRocca scored her first of two late in the second half on Edwards second assist of the game to give Monroe a 2-0 lead heading into the half.
MCC extended their lead in the second half on goals from Travina Meeks, LaRocca, and Autumn Edwards, while Carr held steady in goal to earn the shutout victory. With the victory the Tribunes improve to 2-0 on the season.
