ROCHESTER - Abbey Lloyd scored three goals and assisted on the other as the MCC women's soccer team defeated Genesee Community College 4-0 on DiMarco Field Monday evening.
It was the second hat trick of the season for the freshman forward from Australia. Lloyd missed the first eight games of the season due to injury, but has come back to register eight goals and six assists in just four games.
It was the sixth consecutive win for Monroe (9-2-1), which is 7-0-1 over its last eight. The Tribunes have shut out four of its last five opponents.
Ashley Williams scored the first goal in the 13th minute for MCC. Lloyd assisted on the play.
Lloyd then scored twice in less than six minutes to give the Tribs a 3-0 lead at the break. She finished off the hat trick in the 83rd minute.
Karley Renehan and Meghan Hake combined to make three saves for the shutout. Sydney Frizzelle, Coumba Sow, and Jordie Franke all added assists on the night.
