Monroe's season ends in national semifinals

ARNOLD, Maryland - The MCC women's lacrosse team saw its season come to an end on Saturday, as the Tribunes fell to host Anne Arundel Community College, 18-10, in the NJCAA national semifinals.
With the defeat, Monroe (7-6) was denied its seventh consecutive national title. The Riverhawks will face Harford Community College Sunday for the championship.
MCC trailed by just one at the half, but ran out of steam over the final 30 minutes as Anne Arundel outscored the Tribunes 10-3 in the second half to claim the victory.
Makenzie Storto finished with a team-high five goals to go along with one assist to lead Monroe. Kyrsten Stone and Emily Smith added two goals apiece, while Elissa Callaway added one. Alli Olevnik tacked on an assist.
Leah Di Domenico stopped 14 shots in the cage for the Tribunes.
