ROCHESTER - As the regular season winds down, the unbeaten MCC women's lacrosse team is looking to find the perfect rhythm heading to the postseason.
The Tribunes started the process on Saturday with a 19-2 victory over visiting Mohawk Valley Community College. Monroe improved to 12-0 on the season and clinched the top seed for the upcoming Region III tournament.
MCC and Mohawk Valley traded goals in the first minute before the Tribunes rattled off 13 in a row the rest of the half. Taylor Excell scored all four of her goals and added an assist during that 13-0 run.
Monroe then added five straight in the second half before the Hawks finished the scoring with less than 10 minutes left in the game.
Gianna Branca and Nicole Beatson tallied three goals and an assist each for Monroe. Beatson also added six ground balls and five draw controls. Morgan Hollenbeck and Dana Isaacs both scored two goals to go along with an assist.
Dana Kiselica dished out three assists and Melissa Moran totaled four ground balls, six draw controls, and four caused turnovers.
