Lady Tribs sprint past Nassau

ROCHESTER - Devon McKercher led the way with four goals and three assists as the MCC women's lacrosse team defeated Nassau Community College 22-1 Tuesday evening.
The win moved the Tribunes to 2-0 on the season and pushed their winning streak to 52 games overall.
Nine different players found the back of the cage for Monroe, which built a 15-1 lead at halftime and held a 42-3 edge in overall shots.
Nicole Beatson had four goals, Gianna Branca added three goals and three assists, and Zoe Hendricks chipped in with three goals and two assists for MCC. Morgan Hollenbeck also registered a hat trick.
Nassau's goal came 10 minutes into the first half, as Nicole Moniello was able to swat a loose ball into the goal.
Taylor Excell chipped in with two goals and two assists for the Tribunes. Melissa Moran, Jordyn Dala, and Julia Ciavaglia all scored once. Christie Hahn dished out three assists.
Moran led all players with six ground balls while also causing three turnovers. Hahn added five ground balls and Charity Warner was responsible for eight draw controls. Monroe won 22 out of 25 draws.
