BUFFALO, NY - Monroe Community College turned in a commanding performance, defeating Erie Community College 74-47. With this decisive victory, Monroe improved its record to 14-11 overall and 2-3 in conference play,
The game commenced with a competitive first quarter, as Erie held a narrow 15-14 lead. However, Monroe quickly found its rhythm, outscoring Erie 60-32 over the remaining three quarters. The key for Monroe was its effective offensive execution, shooting 33.3% from the field, compared to Erie's struggles at just 22.6%.
Leading the charge for Monroe was Serenity Henderson, who not only topped the scoring charts with 18 points but also contributed 10 rebounds. Skylah Kemp added a strong 15 points and 10 rebounds, demonstrating versatility and tenacity on the boards. Zarriah Eldridge and Shania Estrich also made significant contributions, combining for 28 points.
Erie's Lillian Patterson stood out for the home team, collecting a game-high 18 rebounds while scoring 17 points.
