JAMESTOWN, NY - Jamestown Community College rallied in the fourth quarter to defeat Monroe Community College, 72-68, in a tightly contested game.
The game started with Monroe taking a slight lead, closing the first quarter at 14-17.
Monroe's Skylah Kemp led her team in scoring with 18 points, showing offensive efficiency as she shot 58.3% from the field.
The Lady Tribunes held their ground through the second quarter, entering halftime down by just two points, at 33-32.
However, Jamestown turned up the intensity in the final moments.
After a shaky third quarter, where they scored only 11 points, Jamestown erupted for 27 points in the final frame.
Tyesha Wilson provided a spark off the bench, finishing the game with 14 points despite struggling from the field.
Jamestown relied on balanced scoring from their starters, with Myla Truitt contributing 14 points and Jennica Berens adding a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists.
As the fourth quarter unfolded, it was Jamestown's late run that propelled them to victory as they outscored Monroe 27-18, clinching the victory. Monroe falls to 13-10 and 1-2 in conference play.
