Eldridge Elevates Lady Tribs to Fourth Consecutive Win
Rochester, NY - In an closely contested matchup the Lady Tribunes took on the Bobcats of Bryant & Stratton - Albany, looking to defend their home court. The game ended with Monroe taking the win, finishing strong at 63-56.
The first quarter saw Bryant & Stratton jump out to an early lead, wrapping up the period 16-7. However, Monroe wasn't deterred and began to rally in the second quarter, closing the gap and going into halftime tied 23-23.
Things shifted significantly in the third quarter, where Monroe exploded offensively and outscored Bryant & Stratton 21-11. This strong push allowed Monroe to take control of the game. In the fourth quarter, Bryant & Stratton put up a valiant effort, scoring 20 points and trying to close the deficit, but Monroe managed to keep their lead with 25 points in response.
Monroe's Zarriah Eldridge led the way with 16 points, while Skylah Kemp added in 14 points and pulled down 17 rebounds. Monroe shot 32.4% from the field overall and made critical rebounds that helped seal their victory.
On the other side, Daisia Edmond had a standout performance for Bryant & Stratton, scoring 22 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. Teammate Mei-Lin Calliste also contributed well, adding 15 points and an impressive 25 rebounds.
With this win, Monroe Community College improved to 7-4 for the season, matching their 2023-24 season win total.
