Lady Tribunes Withstand Late Herkimer Rally in Win

ROCHESTER N.Y. - In a closely contested game, Monroe Community College narrowly defeated Herkimer College with a final score of 62-60, Withstanding a late game run from the Generals.

The first quarter saw Monroe Community College take an early lead, outscoring Herkimer College 20-15. However, Herkimer College fought back in the second quarter, matching Monroe's 12 points to keep the game close. The third quarter proved to be crucial, as Monroe Community College extended its lead with 18 points, while Herkimer College managed only 11. Heading into the final quarter, Monroe had a 50-38 advantage. Herkimer College made a strong comeback in the fourth quarter, scoring 22 points compared to Monroe's 12. However, it wasn't enough to secure the victory, as Monroe Community College held on for a narrow two-point win. Monroe Community College had a more balanced scoring effort, with Niani Downing leading the team with 17 points. Tylah Langley contributed 16 points, while Kamiya Dambreville added 10 points. Monroe Community College had a higher shooting percentage, making 36.4% of their field goals and 26.7% of their three-point attempts.
