ROCHESTER N.Y. -- The Monroe Community College Tribune Softball team opened Region III Play with a bang, sweeping the Lazers of Onondaga Community College 6-0 and 13-2 in a doubleheder.
For the Lady Tribunes this was their first game played on the brand new "Tribune Softball Field", an artificial turf project that started during the Summer of 2024 prior to the academic year.

In Game Two the Lady Tribunes would keep the hot bats rolling tallyin 13 total runs in the 13-2 victory.
Carly Cegielski went five stong innings striking out two and allowing two runs (Both Earned)
In the second inning Monroe jumped out to an early 8-0 lead over the Lazers.
Amanda Linnenbrink hit a 2-RBI Double, Leah Murray hit an RBI Single to left, and Nikki Namisiniak drove in two runs.
Namisniak would turn right around in the third inning and send one over the left-center wall for a 3-Run Homerun.
With the victory the Tribunes set a great pace in the Regional standings at 2-0
