Amanda Linnenbrink's 14 K's Leads Lady Tribs Past Vermont State - Johnson
MYRTLE BEACH, SC - Amanda Linnenbrink was dominant in the circle, as the hurler rang up 14 strikeouts in Monroe CC's 6-2 victory over Vermont State - Johnson on Saturday. Linnenbrink gave up three hits and two runs over seven innings while walking one.
Monroe CC got on the board in the first inning after an error scored one run.
Vermont State - Johnson took the lead in the top of the third. #93 Taylor Reddick doubled, scoring two runs, to give Vermont State - Johnson the upper hand, 2-1.
Monroe CC jumped into the lead in the bottom of the third when Nikki Namisniak doubled, scoring one run, Ava Bouchey doubled, scoring two runs, and Brooke Downey singled, scoring one run.
#99 Hannah Corvino started the game for Vermont State - Johnson. The starter allowed seven hits and six runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out six and walking three.
Bouchey led Monroe CC with two runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The outfielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Monroe CC's Reagan Bannister, the number nine hitter, led Monroe CC with two hits in three at bats. Monroe CC had patience at the plate, tallying four walks for the game.
