St. Charles Jumps Out to Early Lead in Win Over Monroe
MYRTLE BEACH, SC - Monroe watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 12-0 loss to St Charles CC on Sunday. St Charles CC scored on a single by Kylie Orf, a triple by Emily Gerry, and an error in the first inning.
The Tribs struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing St Charles CC, giving up 12 runs.
In the first inning, St Charles CC got their offense started. Orf drove in two when Orf singled.
Allie Schwerthoffer was on the rubber for Monroe. The righty allowed 11 hits and 12 runs over four innings, striking out four and walking one.
St Charles CC tallied 11 hits on the day. Gerry, Orf, and Brooke Scott all collected multiple hits for St Charles CC. Gerry led St Charles CC with three hits in three at bats. St Charles CC didn't commit a single error in the field. Hunter Collins had the most chances in the field with seven.
