Tribunes Takes Care of Home Pool
Monroe Swim and Dive defended their home pool with resounding individual and team placements.
ROCHESTER, NY - Monroe Swim and Dive's first home meet was a resounding success, with the Tribune's placing first in 19 of the 36 events, and the men's and women's team's taking first and second place respectively over the other schools present.
For the girls, Scarlett Ulatowski (Victor, NY) won first in the 100-yard IM and 50-yard breaststroke, and was the lead and anchor legs in the women's 200 yard medley relay and women's 800 yard freestyle relay respectively, each of which the Tribunes placed second in. KhaNy Sangasy (Brockport, NY) won first in the women's 50-yard freestyle, second in the 100-yard freestyle, and second in the 50-yard breaststroke, losing to only Ulatowski. Peyton Dodge (Canisteo, NY) had herself a solid meet as well. She was the anchor and second leg in the relays with Ulatowski and Sangasy, and placed fourth in the 50-free with a time of 31.46 seconds.
For the boys, Henrique Silva-Baltazar (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) was a quadruple event winner, taking first in the men's 1650-yard freestyle, 200-yard butterfly, 200-yard breaststroke, 1000-yard freestyle, and was also the anchor on a Tribunes men's 800 yard freestyle relay which took second. Maxmillian Curtis (Macedon, NY) was a staple feature of the Tribune's relays, anchoring the Tribs 800-yard freestyle relay win and was third leg in the men's 200-yard medley relay win. In addition to his team successes, Curtis was also dominant in his individual races, placing second in the 500-free and 100-IM, and taking the men's 50-yard butterfly, beating out teammate Michael Rose (Walpole, MA) by 0.32 seconds. To his credit, Rose was dominant in his own right, taking first in the men's 50-yard backstroke, was a feature on those relay's with Curtis, and placed third in the men's 50-yard breaststroke, only behind fellow Tribs Xander De Roos (Borger, Netherlands) and Devon Alderman (Rochester, NY) who finished first and second respectively.
Quinn Kelstone (Brighton, NY) swept the boards in the men's one and three meter diving, with final scores of 218.20 and 184.05 respectively. The Lady Trib divers performed as well, with Lily Plescia (Pittsford, NY) placing fourth in the women's one meter diving and Nina Alderman (Rochester, NY) placing second in the women's three meter diving.
The Tribunes will look to use these next few weeks to improve on their successes, and take care of business at the Don Richards Invitational in December.
