Tribunes Men's Soccer Falls to Harford in 3-2 Thriller, End Regular Season 9-5-1
Monroe Community College's men's soccer team suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat against Harford Community College, wrapping up their regular season and preparing for postseason play with a 9-5-1 record.

BEL AIR, MD - In another hard-fought game, Monroe CC's men's soccer team lost on the road to the Fighting Owls of Harford Community College 3-2.
The Tribunes took an early 1-0 lead when Haato Efune (Tokyo, Japan) found Jacob Sevene (Greece, NY) in the 28th minute, which remained through the first half as Monroe's defense kept the Fighting Owls at bay.
However, the second half turned into a more intense, offensive battle, starting with a tying goal by Owls' Rex Pearce in the 54th minute. Minutes later, the Owls took the lead when Alfonso Gilleard Soriano Cortes scored in the 65th minute.
The Tribunes rallied as Jack Chalmers (Carnoustie, Scotland) equalized in the 77th minute from an assist by Hamish Campbell (Edinburgh, Scotland).
But the Fighting Owls struck back swiftly. Just two minutes after Monroe's equalizer, Harford's Cristian Lopez-Contreras retook the lead scoring for the third time in the 79th minute. Despite their best efforts, the Tribunes were unable to draw level again and fell 3-2.
With this loss, the Tribunes close their regular season with a record of 9-5-1. The Tribunes will look to learn from their regular season rollercoaster as they enter postseason play, hoping for a strong showing in the upcoming NJCAA East District Quarterfinals.
