Tribunes Handle Kats in 5-0 Win

ROCHESTER, NY - Coming off a difficult loss to Harcum, the Tribunes dominated Erie Community College in a 5-0 victory. Monroe was aggressive from the beginning, with that pressing offense paying off in the 20th minute when forward Andrew O'Neill (Rochester, NY) found Sora Kozaki (Saitama, Japan) for the Tribs' first goal. Scoring continued minutes later when forward Charlie Gaskin (Dunlop, Scotland) finished his second goal of the season and doubled MCC's lead.

Sakuya Futakuchi (Tokyo, Japan) finished his third goal of the season and the Tribunes' third goal of the match from an assist by captain Anton Kelly (Motherwell, Scotland), and Liam Cowie (Aberdeen, Scotland) rounded out the scoring, putting away Tribune goal number four, and extending the first half lead to 4-0.

The second half was much less offensive, with the only goal coming from a well-struck penalty by defender and fan-favorite Harvey Deakin (Motherwell, Scotland) in the 82nd minute. The Tribune defense, however, was exemplary, as keeper Maximo Andrade (Quito, Ecuador) faced zero shots on goal, recording a clean sheet in his first start. 

MCC delivered a commanding performance, improving their season record to 8-2-0. A key highlight of the match was the large number of players Monroe fielded, with most of the minutes going to younger and less experienced players, furthering developing the quality depth of the team. As the Tribunes look on toward the postseason, they will aim to further strengthen the totality of their roster.
