TEAM EFFORT: #15 Tribunes hold off CCBC Dundalk to Close Out 2024
North East, MD - For the final time the #15 Nationally ranked MCC Men's Basketball Program took the hardwood, defeating CCBC Dundalk, 74-69, in an instant classic which saw both teams trade leads throuhgout the game.
CCBC Dundalk came into the match with a 7-4 record, and they made a strong impression in the first half, taking a 40-35 lead into the locker room.
Hussain Williams was a standout for Dundalk, scoring 18 points and grabbing 7 rebounds.
Xavier Barrow also played a key role, contributing 14 points and 7 assists throughout the game.
However, Monroe Community College, boasting an impressive record of 11-2, didn't back down. They made some key adjustments in the second half and came out with more intensity, outscoring Dundalk 39-29.
Jaheem Tyson and Gemani Charles led the charge for the Tribs, with Tyson scoring 11 points and grabbing 7 rebounds, and Charles stepping up with 11 points, including three pivotal three-pointers.
While CCBC Dundalk put up a good fight, with Christopher Scott and Alex Obase each finishing with 13 points, it wasn't enough to hold off Monroe's second-half charge.
In the end, Monroe Community College's tenacity paid off, allowing them to take the win and continue their successful season, ending 2024 on a high note with a win, 11-2 record, and a national ranking.
