COLUMBIA, Maryland - The MCC men's basketball team couldn't overcome a season-high in turnovers as the Tribunes lost 65-59 to host Howard CC Friday evening.
Monroe committed 30 turnovers, which the Dragons turned into 21 points. Howard shot just 30 percent from the field but we're able to take advantage of the MCC miscues.
The Tribunes (4-3) trailed by 13 early as the Dragons jumped out to a 17-4 lead. Monroe then fought back to cut the lead to five at the break.
Howard maintained its its advantage for the majority of the second half. MCC cut the lead to four at 54-50 on a Tashawn Desir layup with 3:51 left, but the dragons responded with six quick points to help put the game away.
Anthony Hemingway came off the bench to pace MCC with 15 points. Desir and Davon Jackson tallied 11 points apiece and Elijah Tillman added six points and three blocks
