MCC rallies to top Jamestown
The Tribunes remain perfect in regional play with a 90-85 win.
JAMESTOWN, NY - The MCC men's basketball team overcame a four-point halftime deficit to defeat Jamestown CC 90-85 in a Region III contest Tuesday night.
The fifth-ranked Tribunes improved to 6-0 in regional play and 19-2 overall.
Trailing 45-41 at the break, MCC rode the hot shooting of Kenny Johnson (Philadelphia, PA/Abington Friends) and Arnold Fripp (Brooklyn, NY/Brooklyn Collegiate) to come back.
Johnson hit both his 3's and scored 13 of his 18 points over the final 20 minutes. Fripp added 11 of his 17 in the second half. Malcolm McNair (Jacksonville, FL/Samuel L. Wolfson) also came up big, hitting a pair of 3's and scoring 11 of his 19 as MCC pulled away.
Johnson dished out seven assists and Fripp chipped in with 10 points and four blocks. Ta-Quan Zimmerman (Waterbury, CT/Holy Cross) added a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
