Monroe and Genesee Split Double Header
Batavia, NY.- Tuesday afternoon the MCC Tribunes traveled to the 9-7 Genesee Community College Cougars for their second matchup vs the Cougars. It was a close game one between the two teams, going back and forth giving up the lead. Genesee was able to come back and score one run in the bottom of the eight to take the game from Monroe, 11-12. In game two, majority of the runs were all scored in the first inning for both MCC and GCC. The Tribunes were able to take the win, 6-4. With the split, Monroe moves to 10-7 on the season.
Game 1
Patrick May went 2-5 with three RBI and a homerun.
Justin Herrera landed a homerun and one RBI.
Connor Kiefer, Ben Beauchamp, Dylan Wanat (2) and Trevor Gienau (2) all earned themselves an RBI.
Game 2
Bill Quinn was the winning pitcher with five strikeouts, six hits and three walks.
Patrick Sherron earned the save facing four batters and striking out two with one hit.
Max Schmarder and Patrick May doubled.
Justin Herrera homered a second time that day.
Monroe returns to the field on Saturday, April 9th when they travel to Niagara County CC.
