JAMESTOWN, New York - The MCC volleyball team clinched the top seed for the upcoming Western New York Athletic Conference tournament with a three-set win over host Jamestown Community College Wednesday evening.
The Tribunes prevailed by the scores of 25-20, 25-18, 25-14.
MCC is 4-0 in WNYAC play and 24-0 overall. Monroe has one more WNYAC match - Oct. 14 at Erie - but owns the tiebreakers should they lose.
Chelsey Luce had a big match against the Jayhawks. The sophomore outside hitter registered 13 kills to go along with eight digs. Dayle Taber chipped in with 10 kills.
Montana Vescovi added 33 assists, six digs and two kills.
MCC hosts the WNYAC tournament on Oct. 24.
