ROCHESTER - Monroe Community College and Laramie County Community College played to a 1-1 draw on John L. DiMarco Field Sunday afternoon.
With the tie, MCC moved to 1-2-1 on the season. It was the second straight match that went into double OT for the fourth-ranked Tribunes, who fell to No. 7 Iowa Western 1-0 on a late goal in the second extra session on Friday.
The game was scoreless for most of the first half, as quality scoring opportunities were at a minimum. Monroe finally struck in the final minute after a flurry in front of the Laramie goal.
The Tribunes got off a pair of shots that Golden Eagle keeper Jess Urquhart stopped. The second of those, by Monroe's Bianey Serrano, bounced off Urquhart right to Bayley Kralik. Kralik knocked it home as Monroe took the 1-0 lead.
The Tribunes were dealt a blow as time ran out in the first when defender Charlotte Collins-Blaize went down with an injury that would sideline her the rest of the contest.
The score remained 1-0 until Laramie struck with the equalizer in the 84th minute. Shauni Griffiths sent a cross to Abby Morillon, whose leaping one-timer found the back of the net.
The teams then played two scoreless overtime periods to complete the draw.
Caitie Broderick made eight saves in goal for Monroe. The Tribunes also got a save on a head's up play by defender Courtney Hall, who turned away a Laramie attempt after a corner kick in the 90th minute.
