Rochester, NY.- The Monroe Community College women's basketball team kicked off their 2022-23 season last night with a home opener match vs the Finger Lakes Lakers. Leading by 25 points at the half, the Tribunes were able to slide right by FLCC earning a final score victory of 86-33.
Game Highlights:
Freshman, Shanique Simms lead Monroe in points scoring 18, going 8 for 13 in field goals.
Apollonia Desuze finished the night with 16 rebounds, seven offensive and nine defensive. Khamera Muhammad was close behind her with 15 rebounds, six offensive and nine defensive for the Tribunes.
MCC will travel to SUNY Sullivan this weekend to take part in their Tip-Off Classic. Monroe will meet Raritan Valley CC on Saturday at 11 am and Essex County CC at 11 am Sunday.
