Women's Basketball steals season opener at FLCC, 60-32
Canandaigua, NY.- MCC women's basketball program is back on the court after three years with no head coach or team. With new head coach, Ayana Bradley and her assistants, Sean Knorr and Lovett Brown, the Lady Tribunes put in a lot of work in the off-season to prepare for their 2021-22 season. Monroe traveled to Finger Lakes CC last night for their first match up at 5:30 pm. The Tribunes kept a consistent lead throughout the entirety of the game taking the victory, 60-32. With MCC off to a strong start, they advance to 1-0 to kick off the season.
Game Highlights:
Freshman, Isabella DeRubeis (Rochester, NY) scored the most for Monroe with 20 points on the night while finishing with 17 rebounds.
Gabrielle Moore (Brooklyn, NY) earned herself three steals and three blocks for the Tribunes.
The Lady Tribunes are back to play this Saturday, November 6th when they travel to Sullivan County CC to compete in the Suny Sullivan Tip-Off Classic. Monroe will take on Raritan Valley CC on 11/6 at 12:00 pm and will play again on 12/7 at 1:00 pm when they go head-to-head with Montgomery College.
