ROCHESTER - Despite a cold start from the field, the top-ranked MCC women's basketball team rebounded for a 79-55 win over Erie Community College to remain perfect in Western New York Athletic Conference play.
The Tribunes (14-0 WNYAC, 26-2 overall) hit just 3-of-18 shots but still led by one after the first quarter. Monroe picked it up in the second quarter and took a 10-point lead into the break.
The play of Jaynelle Robinson inside was the key to the turnaround. The 6-foot-3 center had six points and five rebounds in the second on her way to game-highs of 24 points and 16 rebounds. She also added three steals and a pair of blocks.
Taliyah Brisco had a sold all-around game, compiling 18 points, six assists, three boards, and two steals. Torrie Cash added a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds to go along with five assists and four steals.
Sierra Green chipped in with four 3's and 12 points.
