MCC moves to 24-0 with rout of Jamestown

ROCHESTER - A tenacious defense proved to be the catalyst as the second-ranked MCC women's women's basketball team defeated Jamestown Community College 107-32 Saturday afternoon.
The win moved the Lady Tribunes to 8-0 in the Western New York Athletic Conference and 24-0 overall. MCC has three games next week to wrap up the regular season.
Monroe utilized its vaunted half-court trap to force 40 Jayhawk turnovers, which they turned into 58 points. MCC had 30 steals, with Kiki Bynes coming up with seven and Adre'onia Coleman five.
Deja Carroll was 8-for-13 from the floor and led all scorers with 18. Chelsea Steinruck came off the bench to score 15, while Bynes and Naje Gibson added 13 apiece. Coleman also hit double figures with 12.
Shanice Johnson added nine points, and Alexis Brito and Tatyanna DiRoma scored eight apiece. Caitie Broderick grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds and Chelsey Wilbern pulled down nine.
