MCC routs Globe Institute
The Tribunes force a whopping 48 turnovers in the victory.
BROOKLYN, NY - On the strength of a defense that forced an amazing 48 turnovers, the MCC women's basketball team sailed to a 78-40 victory over Globe Institute Friday evening.
The Tribunes (18-4) won their 17th straight game with a stingy defense that was all over the court. Dionne Coe (Brooklyn, NY/Murry Bergtraum) led the team with eight steals, while Karin Robinson (Queens, NY/Mary Louis Academy) had seven thefts.
Robinson also added 15 points and six assists for MCC. Coe had 10 points and four assists. Ayana Ratliff (Brooklyn, NY/Bishop Loughlin) chipped in with 15 points and four steals.
Tyese Purvis (Queens, NY/Francis Lewis) also hit double figures with 11 points and nabbed five steals. Donisha Watson (Bronx, NY/Mount Vernon) lodged her seventh double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds to go along with three blocked shots.
