CORNING, N.Y. – The Monroe Community College Tribunes took on the Corning Community College Red Barons. The Tribunes lost game one 4-0.
Amanda Linnenbrink stepped in the circle for game one. She allowed 6 hits, and 4 runs (3 earned) over six innings while striking out 6. Jenna Plue was in the circle for the Red Barons. She pitched 7 innings and struck out 17 Tribune hitters. Amelia Arena and Ashley Simons had the two lone hits for the Tribunes. Saylor Ayers, Teona Cruz, Brianna Greenlaw, and Jaylianna Sabatino each drove in a run for the Red Barons.
GAME TWO
The Tribunes were unable to win game two losing 19-2 in five innings.
Nikki Namisniak stepped into the circle for the Tribunes in game two. She allowed 19 runs (16 earned) over five innings. Olivia Switzer pitched five innings and allowed just two runs for the Red Barons. Amelia Arena went 1-3 and drove in two runs for the Tribunes. Morgan Brozak went 2-2 at the plate for the Tribs. Brianna Hardwick, Maliyah McIver, Lily Callahan, Brianna Greenlaw, and Caroline Courson each collected three hits for Corning.
The Tribunes were unable to get a win against Corning CC but they look to bounce back against the OCC Lazers on April 23.
