Rochester, NY - The Monroe Community College softball team erupted for 23 runs defeating Finger Lakes Community College 12-4 and 11-3 on Saturday afternoon. With the victory, the Tribunes improve to 3-1 on the season, while the Lakers fall to 1-9.
Amber Gerringer paced the Tribune offense finishing the day 5-7 with seven RBI's and three doubles, including a three-run homerun in game one. McKenzie O'Keefe got it done with the bat and in the circle, knocking a three-run inside the park homerun in game two, while tossing five innings across both games, striking out eight - earning the victory in game one.
Courtney Morse tossed three innings, striking out five, in game two to earn the victory for the Tribunes.
Monroe returns to action on Monday afternoon when they travel to Finger Lakes Community College to take on the lakers at 2 and 4pm.
