ROCHESTER – The MCC swimming and diving teams split their season-opening meet against Buffalo State Saturday.

The men had four double winners. Kevin Burns (Ravena, NY/RCS) placed first in the 200 free (1:49.07) and 100 fly (56.13), and Tore Hansen (Skoutianten, Denmark/Zealand) won the 500 free (5:03.13) and the 1000 free (10:42.74).
Kyle Shares (Victor, NY/Victor) won 1-meter (288.65) and 3-meter (255.15) diving. Gaitan Gehin (Lausanne/Switzerland/August Piccard) took first in the 100 breast (1:01.95) and 200 IM (2:03.79).
Other winners included Brandon Sears (Corning, NY/East) in the 50 free (22.77), Connor Kilmer (Auburn, NY/Auburn) in the 100 free (49.86) and Tyler Webster (Middlesex, NY/Marcus Whitman) in the 100 back (59.32).
The women had three double winners, led by Alaiya Tuntemeke (South Lima, NY/Livonia) in 1-meter diving (251.85) and 3-meter diving (225.35).
Kate Hamilton (Rochester, NY/Eastridge) won the 500 free (5:46.86) and the 1000 free (11:52.22), and Amber Landschoot (Phelps, NY/Midlakes) placed first in the 100 back (1:10.11) and 200 free (2:11.44).
Ashley Dubois (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) took first in the 100 breaststroke (1:17.28).
