ROCHESTER - The MCC men's soccer team exploded for six second-half goals and went on to a 7-0 victory over Cuyahoga CC on John L. DiMarco Field Saturday.
It was the second straight win for the Tribunes, who improved to 2-1-1 on the season.
Monroe controlled the tempo from the outset and had a number of opportunities in the first half. But they didn't cash in until the 43rd minute, as Rilwan Sule scored off a pass from Jesus Morales for the 1-0 lead.
MCC then started cashing in on those opportunities in the second half, starting with a penalty kick conversion by John O'Connor less than three minutes in. Charles Wheaton then scored off a beautiful pass from Yiming Yang in the 59th minute to make it 3-0.
Yang found the back of the net himself in the 75th minute. Morales then scored the game's final three goals as the Tribunes won going away.
Morales also assisted on Yang's goal to finish with three goals and two assists on the day. David Wright and Greg Reuter chipped in with assists as well.
Fernando EMza stopped two shots in goal to earn the shutout for Monroe.
