Rochester, NY. - Monroe Community College men's basketball team hosted a sub-regional game earlier this evening against the Mercyhurst NE Saints. Monroe picked up their fourth straight win with a 76-65 Victory over MNE who earned their eigth straight loss. In the second half the scored was tied on four seperate occasions but the Tribunes found a way to battle their way back on top. Austin James (Buffalo, NY) led Monroe with 18 points, four steals, twos assits, one block and one rebound. The Tribunes now improve to 13-14 on the season while the Saints move to 8-18.
Game Highlights
- Ashawn Baird (Brooklyn, NY) added 14 points, eight rebounds and one assist for Monroe.
- Jamahl Humbert (Staten Island, NY) finished with 13 points, five rebounds and two assists for the Tribunes.
- Kyrion Pacley led Mercyhurst with 17 points, three steals, three assists and two rebounds.
Monroe will head down to Erie Community College this Saturday, February 29th for a regional game.
