ROCHESTER - MCC student-athletes Tamara Miler and Michelle Schwartz were honored as Athletes of the Year by the Western New York Athletic Conference.

She capped the year by winning the 500- and 1650-freestyles at the NJCAA championship swim meet in March, where the Tribunes finished runner-up to Indian River State College. She was the only athlete from a college other than Indian River to win an individual event.
Miler set five individual school, Region III, and Northeast District records and was part of four relays that did the same. She was named the 2015 Region III/Northeast District Female Swimmer of the Meet, as well as the 2015 NJCAA Non-Scholarship Female Swimmer of the Year

She finished her Monroe career with 79 goals and 92 assists and is second in program history in assists and points. In addition, Schwartz was the Samuel J. Stabins award winner as the top female athlete at Monroe Community College. She will continue her academic and athletic careers at Siena College.
