MCC set to host Region III women's lacrosse tournament
Monroe, Onondaga, Jefferson, and Genesee will compete for the title.
ROCHESTER - Monroe Community College will host the 2014 Region III women's lacrosse tournament this Saturday and Sunday, May 3-4, on John L. DiMarco Field.
The defending regional and national champion Tribunes (13-0) are the top seed, followed by second-seeded Onondaga Community College (13-1). Jefferson Community College (7-2) is seeded third, followed by Genesee Community College (6-3) at No. 4.
Monroe and Genesee will square off at 12 p.m. Saturday in the first semifinal, followed by Onondaga and Jefferson at 2:30 p.m.
Sunday's championship game will be played at 1 p.m. Both teams in the title game will also qualify for the NJCAA women's lacrosse national tournament, which will be hosted by Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, MD, on May 10 and 11.
